Arriving just as the sun was setting, we surveyed a local cemetery just outside of Freeport, Illinois.  The cemetery backed up to this field that was in the middle of its harvest, new plantings and waiting for the stalks of corn to rise towards the heavens.

Let the fields and their crops burst out with joy! Let the trees of the forest rustle with praise (Psalm 96:12 (NLT)

On one side of my view, death marks the end of life while on the other side, a tree continues to grow with strength and serves as a reminder of hope and strength.
