Wrigley Field’s Mini-Me

If you are familiar with the Austin Powers' movies, you most certainly know “Mini-Me” – Dr. Evil's little guy!  For the past few days, we have been staying in Freeport, Illinois which is home to the Little Cubs Field.

When we were coming into town, we past a little house with a picture of Wrigley Field on it with the website – littlecubsfield.com.  Last night we drove past the stadium & its awesome!  I wish we had a field like this back home.  It's even got the red brick with the ivy on it (imported from Big Wrigley Field).

On Monday, my good friend's son will be stepping up to the plate at Little Cubs Field to hit one out of the park, and I will miss it unfortunately as I will be in Holland, Michigan on business.

This coming week, children of all ages will be able to step into Little Cubs Field for the annual wiffle ball game.  The only thing is they won't be able to run the bases because they don't want anyone to get hurt.

Apparently, there are a number of aged 65+ who get in on the action and they don't want them to pull a hammy or slide into home plate and not be able to get up.  Wish I was around for that – that would be hilarious!

Question:  Do you wish you had a Little Cubs Field in your town? Or maybe a Little Dodger or Angels Stadium?  Leave a comment by clicking here.
