Speed Limit: It’s Not Just for the Living

Contradictions.  They appear when we least expect them and yet we find them to be most fascinating.  Contradictions.  They offer a balance that we often need, but don't realize we need them.  When I take photographs, I like to look for contradictions.  Sometimes they appear as humor while other times they are serious.

This photograph was one such contradiction.  As I was walking along the road in Arlington National Cemetery, I walked by this sign.  The speed limit sign was for the car traffic, but the way it was positioned, it seemed to take on a different meaning.  I'm not quite sure the dead have a speed limit, but apparently through Arlington it might just be 20 mph.
