Our second to last stop on our tour of famous landmarks in Washington D.C. drops us on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial.
This shot places me squarely at Lincoln's feet on the steps. I wish I had a tripod to take this shot as it was incredibly dark and late. As we exited the Lincoln Memorial, it was around 8:00pm and as you can see people were still milling about. The detail that encompasses this memorial is quite extraordinary. The states are inscribed across the very top of the memorial (which is invisible in this picture), and unfortunately, Lincoln himself is a little blown out as well. To get the look and feel I desired, I through it into Nik's software Silver Efex 2.0 which allowed me to bring out some fo the highlights of the cloudy sky while getting the structure of the memorial.
