Our journey through my Top 25 photos from my missions experience draws to a close today with a fitting farewell titled “Missing You“.
This picture represents a whole lot of different emotions when I look at this chair. When I see the chair and the sound board, I instantly recall the many people who I shared conversations and experiences with.
When I took this picture, I was looking for something completely different. I wanted to capture the scene where it all happened. The sound board is the hub of things. Things change quickly and you have to be on your toes to adapt.
Once I got the photo into Lightroom, I realized that there was a different story to share. Since there was always a buzz around the soundboard, this picture introduces an element of loneliness that the chair nor the soundboard may have known. The chair is used to having an occupant, and it longs to have someone sit upon its ragged frame. The chair is aged, much like its surroundings, but it serves a purpose. It might provide hope to the weary or strength to the aged by allowing itself to be used as a stabilizer.
Whatever this chair's story, it now conveys a sense of loneliness, and thoughts of the good times. Much like this chair, I remember the days gone by, but I remember them with fondness and not loneliness.
Thanks for sharing this journey with me. I hope that you liked these photographs, and I would love to hear your feedback in the comments of your reactions and feelings to this series. If you liked this series, pass it on – tweet, like it, Google it!
Later this fall, I am planning on releasing the next installment of photographs to bring me to my Top 50, so I hope that you will come back and enjoy that series.
