Yesterday, we look at the majesty and beauty of the lake and its landscape as viewed from my favorite bench at the Hotel Medlov in the Czech Republic.

Today, we spend a few moments appreciating the dock at sunset.
It was the last evening at the Family Camp and I had wandered down to the lake just as I had most every night with my camera. Each sunset may appear to be exactly like the day before, but in actuality each one is unique. Sometimes there are clouds in the sky. Sometimes the sun bounces off the water a bit. Sometimes people make their way into the frame and help create a scene that is unlike any other.
This is one such scene. As I began photographing the sunset, I captured the light dancing off the water from multiple angles and then stepped away for some perspective. As I stepped away, Brian came down to the dock to start tossing bread into the lake to attract the ducks. Soon after that, Alan came down and sat down next to him.
Looking out over the scene, I realized that this was a great shot as it brought life to the frame. I took this picture from several angles, but this picture captures the texture of the dock planks, the boats at rest, the reflections of the landscape in the water and best of all Brian and Alan enjoying the last rays of the sunlight.
This photograph invites me to pull up a chair and join them at the dock for one last sunset – won't you pull up a chair and join me?
Tomorrow, we will look at one last detail shot before heading back to Pskov for the remainder of the photographs.
