I love to read! Over the last several years, I have re-discovered my love for reading and knowledge. My bedside table and bookshelves look like a library with new books arriving every so often.
With the advent of the iPad and the Kindle App, I have begun to move most of my library over to the digital domain, but there are many books (especially research-type textbooks) that are not available on the Kindle (yet).
Enter Shelfari
I currently use a an online system called Shelfari to log and track my entire book collection. I have over 750 books in my library between my print, digital and audio collections. Shelfari helps me keep it all organized and allows me to offer reviews, and other notes.
One other great feature of this application is the ability to add a reading goal. This year, I have elected to try and read 50 books within the calendar year. This is rather daunting; however, I love this kind of challenge. I read all kinds of different of books, but most of them center around business, personal growth, christian living and biographies/memoirs.
My current list has the following books on it:
- The Color of Rain by Michael & Gina Spehn
- Place Advantage: Applied Psychology for Interior Architecture by Sally Augustin, Ph.D
- Social Media at Work by Arthur L. Jue, Jackie Alcalde Marr and Mary Ellen Kassotakis
- Innovation YOU by Jeff Degraff
- A Leader's Life Purpose by Tony Stoltzfus
