Many have heard the famous Winston Churchill quote,
“You make a living by what you get. You make a life by what you give.”
Each day, we are reminded that each of you have supported us through prayer and financial means (and for some that might have even been a sacrifice).
Each morning when we rise and meet for prayer, you have enabled us to be here. We are one piece of God's great masterpiece. I am able to write, and take pictures, and to encourage because of the blessing and investment of others. Each photo is taken with a purpose – to bring this experience to your lives. To enable you to share the joy, fun and sometimes pain of lives being transformed by our heavenly Father.
The yarn that people generously donated enables conversations to help point people Christ.
Each beach ball tossed around with the kids was donated in love and generosity enabling women to spread the love of Jesus to little children.
Each boomerang thrown is to help spark conversations with those who are lost, and to build relationships that will lead to those spiritual conversations.
These aren't just objects, they are a beginning. Even as I write this post sitting on the steps of the lake, a father and son have joined me. The young child with his fisherman cap and his tasty lollipop are enjoying the day. I asked if I can take their picture, and they obliged me.
You see…if I had decided not to take my journal and camera and Bible down to the lake I would have missed this wonderful opportunity.
God calls each of us to different aspects of ministry. He has called me to go throughout the world capturing these moments. He calls others to teach English or little children. Each of us has a role to play. Each of us is a missionary – some to other countries, some to the local community, some to give and support those who travel abroad, but all are called to be an influence to those who are in their circles of influence.
Thank you for being a part of this fantastic journey.
