It's hard to believe, but the time has finally arrived to throw everything in a suitcase, pack up the camera gear, and head to the airport. In just a a couple of short hours, I will be at LAX amidst the hustle and bustle of business travelers jockeying for position at the ticket counters, and fighting the LAX loop traffic.
As I reflect on how it all began, I am reminded of the gifts that God gives us. Visions that He whispers into our hearts and ears. He chooses ordinary people like you and me. He calls us by name to share in the work that He is already doing in far off places.
For the next three weeks, I will call the airport, train station, and people's homes my home. I will live out of my overstuffed suitcase. I will hear the stories of what God is doing in their communities, their churches, and in their lives. I will see the joy in their faces, and the struggles they face. I will see the wonders of God's creation. I will learn more about myself during this time.
I will read. I will listen. I will write. I will photograph. I will be stretched. Join me on this journey. The stories of life are all around us. As I travel with Jim and Dustin, the stops will be the same, but our perspective will be different. Each of us has a story to share, and I cannot wait to share these stories with you. Well, it is time to finish up the last minute packing and head out on this great adventure.
