Recently, I read Radical by David Platt and it was really convicting. In the pages of this book, Platt challenges us to think about those who are unchurched and do not yet have a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. He challenges us to conduct our own radical experiment over the next year. Now, I have not always been good with experiments. I was mediocre in Chemistry, average in Anatomy/Physiology, and I never took Physics.
Platt's experiment encompasses the following five areas:
- Pray for the entire world
- Read through the Bible in a year
- Sacrifice your money to a cause or organization
- Spend your time in a different context
- Commit to multiplying people who will enter the Kingdom
This post begins a short survey of the Radical Experiment that I am undertaking in my own spiritual journey. I'm not sure that I have ever challenged myself to Pray for the Entire World. A good friend of mine, Jim Liljegren, who I will be traveling with in just a couple of short months gave me the book Operation: World that is mentioned in Platt's book. Each country is profiled in this book with it's specific prayer needs. You can pray through every country in the world with specific emphasis on their most current needs. I will begin this challenge on February 1st.
Question: Who will join me in praying for the entire world? If you have done this before, share your experiences below in the comments.
