What the Heck?!

I have begun a season of traveling that has me home on the weekends, and out on the road during the week. Last week, my good buddy (and pastor) Andy and I spoke about the Masks We Wear.  Our good friend Melissa joined us with her daughter and this past Sunday morning, I come charging out of the church office to go to service, and see her standing with some friends.  I say,

What the Heck?

it's so good to see you.  It's sort of reminiscent of those Seinfeld days when they say random things.  Can't you just here Jerry Seinfield's voice saying “What the Heck?”.  Now, I am not suggesting that you greet everyone with the phrase,

What the Heck?

as that could get a little interesting real quick. It is by no means a conventional term of endearment, but in this case (when excitement mixed with shock hit), that is what comes out of the mouth and heart. This form of endearment is acceptable (some may disagree with me); however, it is said with as much love and compassion as possible.

So…to my good friend Melissa…I say

What the Heck?

hope to see you next week!
