Life is crazy. Life is good. Life is full of surprises. Isn't that the way it is supposed to be? I hope so. Sometimes I hate that, but in the end (deep in my core), I think I really believe that phrase.
Beginning in October or so, my buddy Carlo had the dream to help his crew pass the GED if they wanted to take it and asked if I would help teach some classes. Since I am a firm believer in education and always want people to excel, I said “sure”.
First, it was math (Carlo's teaching). Boy, the adage that if you don't use it, you lose it is so true. The satisfaction level is off the charts.
Now, its my turn – Hello English. Okay, let me be completely honest. If I had the choice in grammar school and high school, I would have loved to cut English from my class load (sorry English teachers). This is funny, cause one of my life goals is to write a book and you kind of need to know English grammar to accomplish that. I digress. Well, we just returned to classes from the holiday break & we are studying. . . NOUNS!
We've got your common and proper nouns. You singular and plural nouns. And. . .your possessive singular & plural nouns. Yeah. . . so ever try teaching the ” ‘s “ versus the ” ‘ “. Well. . .lets just say that its good to be teaching and I'm headed back to fourth grade for a little re-education of possessive nouns. Follow the progress of our group of guys and gals here.
Helpful hints appreciated!!
