For about two weeks now, I have been listening to Nickelback's song "If Today Was Your Last Day". I have to admit that I have been just wrecked by this song. Between that song & their previous song "Savin' Me", I can't help but imagine that we, as a society, are scared that we will die & not have said what we need to say.
What would you do if you knew that today was your last day? Would you tell someone you love them? Would you confess sin? Would you give everything you had? Would you plead for your life – for one more day?
Flip that around now – what if you could see when someone was going to die (Savin' Me) would it change the way you talked to people? Would you want them to know that you loved them? Would you plead for one more day with them? Would you. . . What. . . Would you tell them about. . . Jesus?
Our lives should be a reflection of Jesus each & every day of our lives. Now, we are not perfect, but we should strive to be more and more like Jesus every day. Would you tell your friend that you want to see them in heaven? Would you tell your friend that you cared for them? Would you tell them you loved them as a friend and brother or sister in Christ? Why do we need to wait to say those things?
This week, may your heart be extra sensitive to whispers of Christ in this area. What if today was your last day? The Bible doesn't guarantee us a tomorrow, but we think we will have one. The Bible says don't worry about tomorrow for today has enough. Live today!
