For the past week, I have been riding a very fine line between stress overload and just barely getting by. My workload is an ever-evolving mystery. One minute its this way, the next hour its something different, the next hour we're back to the previous and so on and so forth.
However, I got a phone call from my friend Dillon, who is a student in USC's Film Program. You want to talk about passion for a craft. You want to talk excitement about getting up every morning with a big smile on your face – knowing that today you are going to be working in your area of giftedness – this is Dillon.
Marcus Buckingham was just featured on an episode of "I Want To Work For Diddy" and he explains which candidates would be a best for the Bad Boy Empire. Inherently, the best employees are those who are passionate about their work. Anyone can wake up and go through the motions and have some success, but true success belongs to those who openly pursue their giftedness.
Dillon is one of these guys that reminds me that life is about fulfilling our true giftedness. Following the passions within our hearts. Realizing that our lives were meant for doing significant things. Don't settle for unfulfilling work – if Stephen Spielberg had, we wouldn't have had movies like Indiana Jones or Schindler's List. Be extraordinary!
