Every so often I meet with a group of guys on a hill – not just any hill – "the hill". It takes 2.5 miles to get up to "the hill". When we reach the top or at least to "the hill", we stop & dive in to each others lives.
Getting together –> sharing –> diving into each other's lives –> here are my struggles –> help me overcome my struggles = Accountability
Accountability does not just magically appear. We rarely wake up in the morning and say "hey, today I think I am going to have someone hold me accountable". It starts with relationship. It starts with being honest about ourselves. When we are honest with ourselves, then we can be vulnerable enough to ask someone for help.
Lincoln logs, tinker toys, blocks, Lego‘s – all of these build upon themselves. When we place the blocks of accountability in such a pattern that we form a foundation, then we can build upon it and strengthen our resolves against the issues that try and cripple us.
Are you building a solid foundation?
