That's right you read it. You probably even spoke it in your mind. Have you ever had the feeling like God is asking you do something, to be someone, and you know that YOU are not right person or at least you think YOU are not the right person. I have been listening to Kay Warren‘s book Dangerous Surrender and she discusses how God wrecked her, gave her a burden and passion for people with HIV/AIDS.
What do you do when God may be working in your heart to help those whom you really are reluctant to help? How do you open that part of your heart up?
It seems counter-cultural – it seems against what I may have grown up and KNOW to be true and right. How do I live Jesus in this way? Kay Warren discusses how Matthew 25:40 rocked her world. Jesus says whatever you do to the least of these, you did unto me. There's a shocking revelation as well as one of those conviction moments – the point at which God says "what are you doing to help the least of these?" Who are the least of these? Matthew 25:45 offers the exact opposite "if you refuse to do unto these, I (Jesus) will refuse to do unto you". Hmmm. . . rather a sharp point.
Question: "What step will I just not take?"
