Today's Scripture Reading – Matt. 6:25-34
In Matt. 6:25 it says ” Do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and hte body more important than clothes?” Skipping to Matt 6:33 – “But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”
These scriptures caution us to not be anxious, to put our full trust in God and He will direct our paths. We are to seek Him first so that we may receive the blessing that he has laid out for us. I missed the boat on this, this past weekend. Saturday, I woke up feeling anxious about my trip to Russia and God led me to this passage. Even though I still struggle with this, even as I write this post this morning, the day I am leaving, I know that I am the center of His will. God is magnificant and He wants too commune with us, so why do we often think (myself included) that He cannot do something.
Matt. 6:34 says, “Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”
Place your hope and faith in Him, the author and perfecter of everything.
Application Question: What are you anxious about? What do you continually keep seeking God about that leaves your stomach in knots? Nothing is too small to God!
I look forward to corresponding with you!
