Yesterday I posted the question “what inspires you?” – so what inspires me?
In elementary school, I raced in the 660 yard race and lost bad and vowed I would win the 440 and 660 yard races the following year — I DID!
In jr. high, I trained during the summer with some high school athletes at an exclusive running camp that nearly killed me, but I learned the best way to run, and I didn't realize then that, that experience would be part of a future that inspired me. Oh yeah – I ran 400 miles that summer.
In high school, I left my senior year two weeks early, boarded a plane for Colorado to train with the Continental Singers and then set out for a life-changing summer in the US, Canada, Africa, and The Netherlands.
Post high-school, I toured with the UK Continentals in Eastern Europe for a month, seeing life from the view of an outsider, and have met some incredible people. That experience gave me a passion and love for Eastern European countries especially Moldova.
In college, I traveled during my winter break to Trinidad and Tobago to help lay a foundation for Habitat for Humanity. Helping people seems to be a theme for me – go figure.
The greatest inspiration came somewhere in the midst of all of those experience. That inspiration is. . .
