Life on the Edge: True Life

Yesterday, I posted about challenging the Jr High of ABF to the idea of “Are they living on the edge?” Well, here I stand still working on my message prep for the Jr. High when God decides that its time to push the boundaries and to see where I reside.

I have to ask myself – am I living on the edge? A friend of ours lives in a nice neighborhood and their neighbors are moving, so they want to rent their house. Now, my roommate and I, would love to get into a house – a little more room, an office, etc – well, our friend is passing on the info the neighbors.

Here comes the God moment part — we can't afford it by ourselves. We need to get a 3rd roommate to help cover the costs, which would provide each of us with a total including utilities and rent right around what we are paying for just rent. Here is when we head to our knees and beseech God to help us.

Here's my perspective – how often am I crying out to Him? Am I only coming to God when I really, really need something (i.e. this move) or am I coming to Him with everything? Ohhhh. . . it kinda smacks you upside the head when you really think about often we don't run to Him.

Whether God opens this door or not, it is reality moment to check myself and to get back in step with my Savior. How are you doing with “Living on the Edge”?
