Life on the Edge: Risk or Not?

This weekend, my buddy Jon, asked me to speak to the Jr. High while he was having fun at Hume with the High Schoolers at camp. I thought that I might tackle something that God has been working on me, and that is the question of “Am I Living Life on the Edge?”

The Bible is filled with countless encounters of risk-takers for their faith. I think of Noah – whom God used to build and ark and save his family from devastation when the floods came. I think of Abraham – who waited 100 years to have a son and then have God ask him to sacrifice him. I think of Esther – who went before the king and risked her life for her people.

Stories of true risk-takers willing to throw down and leave it all behind. My question is: are we willing to do the same? Are we willing to look over the edge and tell God that they are willing to be used wholly and completely for whatever God asks? It's one of those questions that causes you to pause and think and reflect upon the strength of our faith.

As I move forward in my study on this topic, I look forward to updating my journey. Are you living on the edge?
