Review: The Power of Nice

I just got done listening to a great little book entitled The Power of Nice by Linda Kaplan Thaler and Robin Koval. Linda and Robin work for the KaplanThaler advertising group and have noticed that they win much more business when they are nice rather than the contrary.

The book highlights the basic principles we learned about when we were kids – be nice to people and they will be nice to you. The authors point out that the old adage of “nice guys finish last” is unfounded and that all the research today points to the adage that “nice guys do finish first“.

The corporate ladder, as they see it, does not contain rungs of people who you have stepped on to get to the top but rather people who have helped you achieve the success you have today. The basic principles of “nice” should be a part of everyone's vocabulary whether in business or life. This book is a must have for anyone's library.
