Suicide Crisis

USA Today reported yesterday that suicide rates among young girls (especially) is on the rise in a dramatic fashion. The article stipulates that pre-teen suicide has risen by 75% and the methods are no longer hand guns or poisons, but rather hangings and suffocation.

This article hit me hard as I am just finishing working with the youth at my church, and it makes wonder what these kids may be going through that they aren't sharing with their friends or family. How can the local church be there for these kids? We need to value inclusion and a welcoming environment so that we can get to know these kids and dive deep into their lives to understand them. The church needs to help restore the hearts of all of God's children.

Tell your family you love them – its important!
