Awhile back I explained that I had accepted a position at my church, ABF, as the interim youth pastor while they searched for a new one. While leading the Jr. High group one Tuesday night, we had a discussion that utilized “unfinished sentences”. For me, I landed the question, if I could choose any job I wanted what would it be? I indicated that I didn't know, that my sentence was unfinished and that God would have to finish it.
Well, one aspect of the sentence is finished. Beginning September 1, ABF has a new youth pastor (it is not me), and I will slip into a much needed rest and refreshment period. However, my sentence isn't finished yet. I still don't know what is next on the horizon, should I pursue a job that I previously thought I could not entertain – one that would require 50% of time traveling (which I love to do). Does God have a wife on the horizon for me – if so, who? I am not sure what the next step is, but looking forward I will. There will be a lessons learned post, but I hope it is framed through the lens of what God taught me after I have rested some.
Today, marks another new season – I am disappointed that the interim season was so short, but I told God to use me for however long He needed me and that time has come to an end.
