I love to travel. I love the hustle and bustle of airports. I love the feeling you get when your plan roars down the runway at take-off and I love the occasional turbulence that drops you unexpectantly like you are on a ride a Disneyland. What I don't love is the unexpected fun of switching up tickets when flights are cancelled. Today is just one of those days.
Today I was scheduled to take the red-eye flight to Boston, do about 5 hours of work and then take the afternoon flight to St. Louis to attend a conference; however, the weather had a different idea. Today the eastern seaboard is being bounded by one the worst rain storms in the past 25 years and thus my flight was cancelled, only to be rescheduled for 12:50am getting into Boston at 11:45am. I spoke with our Corporate representative for travel who was one of the nicest customer service agents I think I have ever spoken with. She quickly helped me get on another flight from LA to St. Louis.
I still love traveling and I still love the hustle and bustle of airports and the next 2 weeks will be filled with many opportunities to enjoy the hustle and bustle, but for right now I will enjoy a little extra downtime before my flight status returns to something resembling normal.
